Conceived and developed the first exact quantum homodyne tomographic method. Generalized the method to arbitrary quantum system and arbitrary ensemble average. Conceived the first feasible method for experimental characterization of quantum devices. Introduced novel theoretical methods to deal with covariant measurements and transformations, which has recently lead him and his group to the solution of the long-standing problems of phase-estimation and broadcasting of mixed states of qubits.
